Deepavali the Festival of Light is celebrated by the Hindus around the world. For us , the Malaysian Indian this is a day that most of us will be waiting..
The word Deepavali is a combination of the words Dipa ( light) and vali ( a row). there a lot of storie about this festivals, for the south indians deepavali is celebrated t as the day Lord Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura an evil demon who created havoc. Before Narakasura's death, he requested a boon from his mother, Satyabhama (believed to be an Avatar of Bhudevi - Narakasura' mother), that everyone should celebrate his death with colorful light.
Back to the Question... what does Deepavali means to me?
- A week off, a festival to be celebrated with my loving family
- This is the time I can meet all my relative and friends.
